Fighter Verse For July 5, 2015

“I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the LORD; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!” –Psalm 34:1-3

We bless the Lord when we use our mouth to magnify and exalt his name. To magnify something is to take an object and make it appear larger. When we do this, we are not actually changing the size of the object, but rather making the object appear larger so we can see and appreciate it better.

We can never make the Lord larger than he actually is. But there is a way in which we can magnify him in the eyes of others, and in the eyes of our own heart, so that he can be appreciated more. The way in which we do this is through praising and exulting his name.

“Oh magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together!” Let’s purpose to use our mouth this day to make its boast in the LORD, and not its boast in ourselves or in any other created thing.
