Oh, Suffering Is Hard

1 Peter 5:6-11
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober- minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Suffering is so very hard. I just learned that a friend of ours is going to be delivering a baby that has a condition called Anacephaly. This condition always results in the death of the child as it will be born without most, if not all of it’s brain. I can hardly stand it to hear such news. My heart breaks to think of giving birth to your full term baby without any hope of life this side of eternity.

We went through the death of our son Justus less than a year ago. It was the hardest trial that we have ever been through, and yet we did not have to give birth to a full term child.

I will not give their names, but could you please lift this family up to the throne of grace today? God knows their names. Thank you!
