Exodus 5:22 – 6:1 Then Moses turned to the Lord and said, “O Lord, why have you done evil to this people? Why did you ever send me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has done evil to this people, and you have not delivered your people at all.” But the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh; for with a strong hand he will send them out, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.”
God had seen the affliction of His people and plans to deliver them. He appears to Moses, tells him the plan, and sends him off to Pharaoh to get things going. Pharaoh does not agree with the plan though and instead makes the Israelites slavery even harder than it was. The people see it, they feel it, and then begin complaining. Moses goes before his God and asks why have you done evil to this people?
The Lord is not fragile or insecure. His Son is the truth incarnate and our Triune God rests completely secure in who He is and what He does. Because of this truth, we can have the confidence to bring whatever is on our hearts before His throne. He may not reveal to us His immediate plans; but we can bring our hard questions and statements before Him knowing His stability does not depend on any foundation other than himself. He is confidence itself; and so we can confidently bring our insecurities to the One who never sleeps or slumbers.
