By [Read Genesis Chapter 6]
Have you ever made something that you did not like? Maybe you painted a picture, sculpted a bowl, drew a picture, or just crafted a sentence. What were your feelings toward the object that didn’t turn out the way you had planned?
The beginning chapters of Genesis tell us that God thought all he had made was very good. Now just a few short chapters later, he declares it very bad. Here are his words:
“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” -Genesis 6:5–7
The Lord is about to crinkle up his creation and throw it in the garbage. He has a plan to redeem his creatures through the family line of one faithful man named Noah. Noah will build an ark to preserve enough people and animals to grow a new order on the old earth. This blood line would one day produce the Son of God; the true and living Ark who saves his people from the wrath of His Father. You and I are enabled to arrive safely to a new heaven and a new earth if we simply cling by faith to the living Ark of God; Jesus Christ.
