Fighter Verse For 12–20–15
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.’” –Revelation 21:3
As I sit at our kitchen table this morning and anticipate heading out the door for work in a few minutes; it is hard to imagine a time when I could walk out my front door and stroll over to God’s house for breakfast. Chapter 21 of Revelation is about John’s vision of the New Heavens and New Earth. This city is called the New Jerusalem, the Holy City. It is the place that is being prepared now and will one day descend upon our earth to make all things new. All tears will be wiped away by the Lord. There shall no more be any death, any crying, any mourning, or any pain. Those things pass away when God himself comes to dwell with man. The disciples had a taste of the Holy City when Jesus tabernacled with them. We get a taste of the New Jerusalem through the Holy Spirit that now dwells in us. But one day we shall experience the eternal and entire banquet feast.
