Fighter Verse For 10-18-15
…let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. –James 1:19–20
Quick to Hear:
How often are we quick to hear? I think our flesh is more easily quick to hear juicy words of gossip then fruitful words of wisdom. God desires for his children to be quick listeners. And he would not have had his servant James tell us to be a quick listener if God was not one himself. This helps us to see the importance of prayer. God sits upon his throne in heaven quick to hear the prayers of his saints. This is a sweet thought to me. O how we need to mimic our Father in heaven!

My name is Scott David and I live in Minnesota. My wife and I have been married for 23 years and we have 4 children. I am reformed in my doctrine and confessional; as we hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession. I am convinced by Scripture that I am to lead my family to the throne of grace through daily devotions and prayer. These posts are currently the devotions that we do each night. If you decide to participate in doing these devotions with your family; know that we are doing them right along side you. May the Lord add his blessing to his Word and your desire to serve him through day by day devotions.
