Created On Purpose

Jeremiah 1:5 (ESV) “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

God knows us before we have any form in the womb whatsoever. While in the womb, before we are born, he consecrates us and appoints us to ______, (fill in the blank). The truth of the statement of God knowing, forming and consecrating, is true of all people in all of the world. If God forms one he forms all. It is not as though there is another person, force, or object that forms some people and God forms the rest; he forms ALL.

The Lord not only forms all, he knows all before and during their forming. He has an intimate and specific plan for each of his formed and consecrated children. Our daughter Mercy, whom God knew and formed, was consecrated to make her dwelling place in heaven and not on earth. He consecrated her to affect the lives of hundreds of people by her absence and not by her presence. He appointed her for purposes other than I can know or see now.

Let this sweet truth sink in this morning. Before you were formed in the womb of your mother, you were intimately known, consecrated, and appointed for a specific purpose. If you are reading this, you were obviously appointed for some purpose on the earth. My Mercy was appointed for some purpose in heaven, yet she has affected many people on earth by her absence.

We are not formed in the womb and born in some sort of assembly line sort of fashion. We are made and known by our loving Father in heaven. We are created on purpose and for a purpose. What is yours?

Blessings upon you this Lord’s Day! We are heading to Church this morning as a family. Karie is nervous and anxious. Thank you for all your prayers.
