God Makes Distinctions

Exodus 9:4 “But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.’””

I wonder if the people who object to the doctrine of election have a problem with the fact that God elected (or chose) Israel as a nation, and did not choose the Egyptians. He made a distinction between the two nations to such a degree that he elected the cows of one nation over the cows of the other. This is still true of God today. In the New Testament, we read:

Colossians 3:11 “Here there is no Greek or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.”

Christ is the end of the distinction between the two nations, but he is the separation point between all peoples; because every person is either in Christ, or out of Christ. Each person is either a Christian, or not a Christian; here lies our remaining distinction.
