Job 16:18-21
“O earth, do not cover my blood; may my cry never be laid to rest! Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; on behalf of a man he pleads with God as a man pleads for his friend.”
The book of Job is said to be sandwiched (historically speaking) inside the book of Genesis. This text is yet another evidence that Jesus Christ has always been the object of trust for the people of God.
(questions for the kids)
1. Can you think of anyone else Job might be speaking about who would intercede for Job?
- Jesus is said to be “the friend of sinners.” Do you think of him as your friend?

I am reformed in my doctrine and confessional; as we hold to the 1689 London Baptist Confession. I am convinced by Scripture that I am to lead my family to the throne of grace through daily devotions and prayer. These posts are currently the devotions that we do each night. If you decide to participate in doing these devotions with your family; know that we are doing them right along side you. May the Lord add his blessing to his Word and your desire to serve him through day by day devotions.
