By Hebrews 7:22-25
This makes Jesus the guarantor of a better covenant. The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office, but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever. Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

All offices are the same as the Levitical priestly office; death always prevents us from continuing in them. Jesus is different from us because he always lives. He was appointed a high priest to make intercession for his people. His office continues forever because he lives forever. The high priest would live to make intercession to God for the people. The people would be forgiven of their sins by coming to God through the priest. It is so much better now because Jesus is unlike an earthly priest. He is not limited by time, space, and location. He is able to preform his priestly duties for the people groups of the entire world, and not just a Jewish community in Israel. It is better because death no longer prevents Jesus from continuing in his office. It is better because Jesus himself is able to grant total forgiveness of sins, and the hope of eternal life. He is able to do this for you today. Will you draw near to God through our high priest Jesus?
