By James 1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
People’s lives have been saved through heart transplants. It is an amazing thing (through common grace) that mankind has developed the ability to remove a person’s failing heart and implant a new heart from another person’s donation. This implanted heart saves the person’s life. It is an operation that the patient is passive in, and simply receives with meekness the implanted heart.
All of mankind comes forth from the womb with an unsaved soul. In a similar way, we all need implants. We need the implant of a new spiritual heart so that our souls will be saved. This implant does not come from the hand of a skilled doctor, but from the power that flows through the Word of God; the Bible. It is relevant for us this Lord’s Day as many of us are heading out to Church to sit under the preaching of the Word. Go forth today and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save, and sanctify your souls.
