By Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. (Isaiah 40:28 ESV)
At the end of the day, I don’t know about you, but I have grown tired and weary. Some days are worse than others obviously depending on my work day and the needs of my wife and children. But what I do know is that I have never, nor ever will be able to say that I am unable to grow tired or weary. Matter of fact, I can barely finish one project without growing weary, let alone create and manage all the universe.
This verse is intended to encourage us. Our God never, ever grows tired or weary. There will never come a time where he needs to take a nap, food, or bathroom break. He does not need sleep, caffeine, nor food to keep up his energy. He is dependent upon nothing in all of creation to keep him going. We on the other hand daily grow tired and weary. Isn’t it comforting to know that we worship a God who is not like us? He has an unsearchable understanding.
