Memory Verse 153 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say to the LORD, ‘My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’ Psalm 91:1–2
Our memory verse this weeks teaches us that the Almighty God will protect us if we dwell in the shelter of his care. We dwell in the shelter of his care when our home address is the same as the Lords. His cave is our home and our dwelling place. Those who live in God’s residence have the blessing of abiding under his protection. To abide in the shadow of the almighty is to be protected under his wings. And those who dwell with him have this blessing even if they go to town to fetch the weekly groceries. They are always under his protection even if they’re not at home.
This knowledge should produce in us a certain amount of trust and confidence in the Lord. We should say as the psalmist, “my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”
