2 Thessalonians 3:10
In fact, when we were with you, this is what we commanded you:“If anyone isn’t willing to work, he should not eat.”

I am currently at a conference in Des Moines Iowa. It is hosted through the ministry of Vision Forum, and is called The Master’s Plan For Fatherhood. I have learned many things and have been disciplined by The Lord for my lack in certain areas of my fathering and husbanding life.
If you know anything about Vision Forum, you know that they are adamant that Scripture alone is sufficient to guide all parts of one’s life. That being said, there was much information given to parents regarding the spanking of their children. This was not new to me and we do indeed lovingly discipline our children in this way. God has blessed this in our home. There is however an application 2 Thessalonians 3:10 that we have never done and I thought it was very interesting.
Laziness is not acceptable for the child of God. If we as parents give our children commands for work and they fail to do their duty, it is legitimate that a meal be withheld from them. This is not the only kind of discipline, but it is indeed a very interesting and wise application. “If a child is not willing to work, he or she should not eat.”
